MICHAEL WEISS (Writer/Director) grew up in Huntingdon Valley, Pennsylvania. Michael became interested in film at the age of 12 when longtime friend and writing partner Robert Palmer showed him the film “Do The Right Thing”. From that point on Michael absorbed every film he could get his hands on from “Blood Simple” to “Fear of a Black Hat” to “Top Gun”. Honing his craft through high school Michael worked on such films as “Robespierre”, “Murder at the Cathedral”, “Dr Jekyll and Mr Hyde” and “Turnip Farm”, directed by Robert Palmer. In 1995 Michael attended Kutztown University where he went on to write short films, various songs and his first screenplay “Celebrities”. In 1998 Michael landed his first films job as a production assistant on “Train Ride”, a film by Director Rel Dowdell. After college Michael moved out to Los Angeles to pursue a career in film and writing. He began working in commercials and music videos which led to him shooting various spec spots. Michael finished his second screenplay “Fell On Black Days” which drew interest by various festivals. In 2003 Michael took his talents to reality television, where he worked as an assistant camera operator. In 2005 Michael completed his short film “Waking” which made it into the top 50 on the reality series “On the Lot” from director Steven Spielberg. Currently Michael works at a prestigious editing house in Santa Monica, Ca.
Michael has penned the screenplays “Celebrities, “Fell on Black Days”, “A Better Tomorrow” and created a Television Show “My Adult Reality”.
Michael has continued to collaborate with Robert Palmer on various screenplays such as; “The Way We Was”, “Viking Food”, “The Patch”, “Dead Summer” and “Border Patrol”. The latter is currently in consideration at various studios.
Michael is developing projects through SteeleWay Films. Most notably “Border Patrol”.
